PureEarth Scale Prevention Systems
The GREEN Alternative to Water Softeners
water supplies, municipal and well, contain hardness minerals (calcium and
magnesium). These minerals form a scale
and create problems in water heaters, washing machines, dishwashers, coffee makers, humidifiers and plumbing systems. PureEarth Scale Prevention Systems are designed to eliminate these problems providing your family with a refreshing difference, saving you money now and in the years ahead. Our salt-free systems feature FILTERSORB SP3® Technology. This technology transforms the calcium and magnesium carbonate (temporary hardness) of the water into mechanically stable and heat resistant calcite crystals (nanometre size) which no longer cause lime deposits. The calcium and magnesium crystals are rinsed away.
The PureEarth Scale Prevention System is a maintenance free system that does not require electricity, cost for salt, costs for water or any other regeneration material.
Available in 5 Residential
sizes, 8", 9", 10", 12" & 13", PureEarth Scale Prevention System features
Filtersorb SP filter media to first remove the already existing scale from pipes
and heat exchanger surfaces (descaling effect) and further to protect the system
from future formation of scale (scale protection effect).
Filtersorb SP is based on a completely new technology. In this process the chemical structure of scale forming minerals is changed. This technology is so effective that it requires a contact time of only seconds.
The media is used in an up flow system, therefore only an in-out head is needed. The media transforms the dissolved calcium carbonate (temporary hardness) into non-charged, neutral chemical bonds. These bonds are completely stable and cannot attach to any surfaces. The chemical bonds are rinsed away by the water flow. The size of the bonds is so small (in the range of nano-meters) that they can only be seen with a microscope. Therefore the effect is the same as if the water was free of temporary hardness (calcium carbonate). The chemical structures are heat resistant and do not fall apart.
Filtersorp SP works great in front of RO membranes. It keeps these membranes from clogging with calcium-carbonate. A preexisting membrane's efficiency is improved after only 10 days if calcium carbonate was the reason for the blocking.
Everything is included! There is nothing else that has to be added unless you want to dress up the package with a tank jacket. Included in 8", 9" and 10" systems - Filtersorb SP Filter Media, Enpress Mineral tank featuring the Vortech bottom distribution plate, "C" Series in/out head, "C" Series Bypass, 1" NPT PVC -plumbing adapters, 1" x 10" "Big Blue" housing with GAC pre-filter with mounting bracket.
12" and 13" systems include a 20" Big Blue Housing and GAC Pre-Filter in lieu of 10" housing & filter.
For applications that need a higher flow rate or feed water with higher than 25 grains hardness, give us a call! We can engineer a system to meet your needs!
What is the
main difference between water-softening unit & Filtersorb SP3?
The “classical” water-softening unit operates on the basis of ion exchange; exchanging calcium and magnesium ions in water with an equivalent amount of sodium. When a water softener is used, the result is not only soft water, but also increased sodium content in the water supply. Additionally, these softening units require water for backwashing and common brine water (salt water) for regeneration. For example, in order to regenerate 100 liters of softening resin, up to 25 kg of salt per regeneration cycle is required. This means an added costly expense of salt is incurred for each and every regeneration cycle. The Filtersorb SP3 water media acts as a catalyst by accelerating the transformation of the calcium and magnesium minerals into harmless “Nano” particles. When the inlet water goes into the water conditioner tank, the up flow pulls the water through the fluidized Filtersorb SP3 media which then acts as a catalyst and pulls the hardness minerals of calcium and magnesium out of the solution and then transforms these minerals into inactive Nano crystal particles. Because the hardness minerals have been transformed into Nano particles, these Nanoscopic particles make their way through plumbing systems without attaching on to pipes, fixtures, valves, or heating elements. Filtersorb SP3 is also a maintenance free system that does not require cost for salt, costs for water or for regeneration material.
